hi

i installed version fuzzy ocr version 3.4.2 , gocr - version 0.43 with all dependencies correctly without errors

netpbm netpbm-10.26.37 was installed from source netpbm binaries installed under : /usr/local/netpbm/bin

operating redhat linux version 3

i noted that only jpeg/jpg files are getting detected for spam while gif, bmp png etc are not detected

i tested as follows on different files

an addition

operating system is redhat enterprize linux version 3 and not redhat linux 3

also when tried this there is shared library error

[root@ns1 lib]# /usr/local/netpbm/bin/giftopnm /usr/local/netpbm/bin/giftopnm: error while loading shared libraries: libnetpbm.so.10: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

You have an issue with your distro, and the version of netpbm you are using being too old, not a bug in FuzzyOcr?. If you can upgrade to CentOS4, there are rpms for FuzzyOcr? here that will work:

http://mirror.contribs.org/releases/7/smetest/i386/RPMS/

If you still want to try a bit more with RHEL3, I would recommend you try to do "rpmbuild --rebuild netpbm-*.src.rpm" with the version from CentOS4, rather than build it from source. I'm guessing that won't work though, because of other dependencies, but you could try it.

if you installed netpbm from source with standard install instructions:

edit /etc/ld.so.conf and add this line:

/usr/local/netpbm/lib/

then run "ldconfig" as root. now it should work.
